Lakefront Pavilion Submits
for LEED® Certification

The Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk is celebrating it’s grand opening November 2nd. The accomplishment is being shared by a diverse group. Congressman Visclosky’s Marquette Plan set the foundation. The City of Portage and the National Park Service created a new type of public/public partnership. The Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority provided critical capital funding. Local industry and community neighbors and environmental stakeholders provided the necessary input and cooperation. This was an exciting design challenge, but even a greater opportunity to translate the shared vision of all the stakeholders, into an example of design and sustainability defining the future of the Northwest Indiana Lakefront.
