SPERO W. VALAVANIS, AIA, NCARB
Principal
Mr. Valavanis received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Ball State University in 1975. He joined Design Organization in 1976 and became a principal in 1981. As president of DO, he continues to participate and strongly believe in direct Principal involvement in all projects, from programming to punchlist, and believes DO's philosophy of managed growth reinforces this practice philosophy. He also feels the highest priority in the consistent development of quality design is "listening" to our clients to clearly define their needs, goals, and aspirations.
Mr. Valavanis has developed a long list of repeat clients in Design Organization's core markets of Healthcare, Workplace Planning, and Higher Education. Focusing on Master Facility Planning, he counsels clients on how to meet their goals by reinforcing their existing cultures and/or using the built environment and technology as a catalyst for change.
He has been involved with sustainable design since the early 1980s and believes environmental stewardship is a moral obligation which requires leadership in our profession.
He is an active Rotarian and serves on the Board of Directors of Horizon Bank. He has served on multiple non-profit boards and feels giving back to the communities in which we live is a responsibility DO
and all of our staff share. |
