Principal

Mr. Ritter began his association with Design Org-anization in 1977 and became principal in 1992. Born in Gary, Indiana in 1957, he received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 1980, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Ball State University.

Mr. Ritter has received recognition for outstanding achievements including awards from Ball State Uni-versity and the American Institute of Architects. His government center proposal for Valparaiso was exhibited at the 1980 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Ritter was Project Architect for the Porter County Administration Center and the Valparaiso University Kade-Deusenberg German House and Cultural Center, both of which were recognized by regional trade associations for outstanding architecture.

Mr. Ritter is an effective project manager, combining excellent design, technical and organizational talents. He has managed a variety of complex new and renovation public bid projects and preservation work, and has diverse experience in higher education and corporate planning. He has significant experience in historic urban rehabilitation and facility addition projects and is able to effectively coordinate project teams including design/engineering professionals, owner representatives and contractor’s agents. His client focus, accountability, attention to detail and construction administration skills have effectively guided numerous large-scale DO projects to successful fruition for the past 25 years.
