The Village of Schaumburg, Illinois, wanted to revitalize a six-square-block area at the center of its historic district by developing a Central Business District (CBD), that would incorporate retail, office space, restaurants and public buildings in a public and private development at the intersection of Roselle and Schaumburg Roads. DO developed architectural guidelines to define the character of the site. Beyond a conventional development, the site offers highly streetscaped vehicular and pedestrian circulation focused on a pond and an intimate outdoor performing area.
