RENOVATIONS AND EXPANSION STUDY

DO originally programmed Cantera 2 as a learning and conferencing center. Before occupancy, the second and third floors were changed into office space, retaining conferencing on the first floor. To maximize communication, DO filled in the atrium on the second floor and located the 720-staff trading group together. DO made major mechanical systems modifications necessary to meet the higher staff densities.
DO has continued to design multiple renovation and restacking projects in Cantera 2, creating the BP new work environment while meeting the evolving needs of the Business Units. To meet growing staff needs, DO recently developed a master plan and feasibility study for the expansion of Cantera 2. The approximately 125,000 square foot expansion, with a serpentine connector to the 1,100 vehicle, six-level Parking Structure, was designed to provide seamless design continuity with the original structure and reflect BP Green Values.
