The Wheaton Eye Clinic is the largest private ophthalmology practice in Illinois. The practice goals were to increase patient convenience, by providing exam, diagnostics and surgery in a single facility. To accomplish this, DO designed an ambulatory surgery center addition to the existing Wheaton Eye Clinic building.
Included in the project were exam and waiting area expansions, a new entrance and the DuPage Eye Surgery Center. The specialty Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center has three operating rooms, one procedure room, twelve holding/prep/recovery rooms and clinical support space. The program called for integrating the new addition with their existing medical office building, creating a new combined entrance/canopy, while maintaining the operation of the existing business throughout construction. |
