To continue to improve the quality of care and convenience to residents in North Porter County, Porter began the development of the Portage Hospital site in 1986 working with DO on the design of an Ambulatory Surgery and Diagnostic Center. Even though flexibility for growth into an inpatient hospital was not a program criteria initially, DO planned the facility to maximize flexibility for both change and growth which proved invaluable as the campus grew into the Hospital it is today.
