Purdue University North Central engaged Design Organization to develop preliminary planning and conceptual design for an Activities and Conference Center. The facility master plan includes Arena, Student Organizations, Fitness Center, Field House, Conference Center, Auditorium and informal Student Collaboration and Social Areas. Vice Chancellor Bill Back feels the Center is a critical addition to the academic campus that will provide students with an enhanced higher education experience. The conference center and auditorium will effectively serve campus programs and be a valuable new resource for the surrounding communities. The Center is located ideally between the academic campus and area planned for future student housing as a main street of activities. The plan also takes advantage of beautiful views of the campus’ virgin timber woods. |
